This section is for the separators that have come off the mould with slight imperfections. It may be a small bubble or a mark within the material that we are unable to buff out. The pictures shown are examples of the cosmetic level you will receive. These separators have been repaired in a gold ‘Kintsugi’ style. Kintsugi, meaning Golden Joinery, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer mixed with powdered gold. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise. Turning something ‘broken’ into something beautiful!!All have been repaired to the best of our ability but have cosmetic imperfections, however we will never sell items where the function is compromised! Its the same amazing quality just with a blemish or 2, but at the end of the day it’s the imperfections that make things beautiful! Plus we always like to help out those on a budget!
All our separators are made with an anti-bacterial gel-coat, resin and fibreglass mix of our own creation, to ensure durability and hygiene at all times. This method and technique has been perfected by us, over years of experimentation, experience and hard work. The surface is extremely strong and resilient, has a complete wipe clean shiny surface without any heavy ridges or joins, and won’t stain as these types of products often do.The Modesty Bung fits inside the back poop-chute part of the separator to hide the contents below. It is made from the base of the solids tank after it is cut off and so is slightly too big for the hole once the foam is added. Just place it on a slight forward slant and you’re good to go 🙂
The ‘Modestly’ Bung is purely designed for this, to cover the view of the contents of the solids tank in your Compost Toilet when not in use. We recommend that it is always removed when urinating, and insist that it is always removed when doing a number 2 😉
Feel free to give us a call or email to discuss anything 🙂
